TRACY HENSARLING, COUNSELOR
Mrs. Hensarling has a BA degree in History and Sociology from the University of Texas at Arlington and an MS degree in counseling from Texas A & M at Commerce. All twenty-eight of the years she has spent in the educational field have been in the Grand Prairie ISD. She first taught middle school for twelve years and then started the SET class at SGP and did Special Programs for the district. Following that, Mrs. Hensarling went to the elementary level for her first counseling job. Coming back to the middle school level as Reagan's counselor is like coming full circle for her in a way, and she is very happy to be here.
Mrs. Hensarling feels that school counseling's main concern should be the development of students in the school setting. She believes her job is to help students be better learners, better citizens, and better people and to help students learn to make choices and decisions that lead to productive and happy lives. She can provide crisis counseling and refer families with more serious concerns toward outside resources. She wants to support parents in their roles as primary caregivers and to help foster a supportive and nurturing environment in our school.
